In 2001 Federal News Radio began as an idea — have a radio show on the Internet. This was years before the term “podcast” was even invented. The federal government having over two million employees, it is a very large enterprise that impacts every American.
In 2006 the station manager asked John Gilroy to develop a weekly program that focuses on innovation in federal technology. “Federal Tech Talk with John Gilroy” was launched. John has conducted over 550 hour long interviews with many leading voices in the technology world.
Because of its success, it became a broadcast station with a 50,000 watt signal. This success drove the website, Federal News Radio, to become a hub of written, video, as well as audio content.
Today, Federal News Radio boasts dozens of writers, producers, and editors. Its growth has caused its expansion to a new office in late 2018.
