After twelve years on Federal News Radio, it seems reasonable to take a look a year’s worth of interviews and let listeners know what is popular. Below are the top ten shows from 2018 on Federal TechTalk with John Gilroy.
Some trends can be discerned. First, we had a great start — five of the top ten are from January and February alone. Perhaps this is function of sitting on the website and getting more value from Search Engine Optimization. A longer term analysis should be planned.
Cybersecurity was the focus of of four of the top ten. All you have to do is pick up a newspaper and that topic will be validated. Steve Bennet from SAS has stated that the federal government will be the largest producer of data in the years ahead — security of that data must be a priority.
One key takeaway is that the shows who were the most popular followed my lead in aggressive social media promotion. I did 65 Tweets for every interview, a blog, a LinkedIn status update, and inclusion in my weekly newsletter.
